The Lightwell Museum–Hotel
Design Studio | Lawrence, Kansas
The Lightwell Museum–Hotel explores the intersection of culture, hospitality, and the public realm through a hybrid architectural program. Designed for an urban site in Lawrence, Kansas, the project weaves together exhibition spaces, lodging, and shared amenities to create a continuous experiential sequence. Light, materiality, and spatial transition play a central role in shaping the visitor experience, guiding movement between public and private zones. The project investigates how architecture can simultaneously support civic engagement and retreat, framing the hotel as both destination and cultural infrastructure.
