Refracted Horizons is an architectural pavilion located in Riverfront Park along the Kansas River in Lawrence, Kansas. The project explores how folded surfaces and structural frames refract daylight, shape shadow, and define spatial thresholds within a natural landscape. Through iterative physical modeling and site analysis, the design responds to circulation patterns, seasonal light conditions, and sloping terrain—creating a lightweight structure that offers shelter, framed views, and moments of pause along the riverfront trail.
